Postmordenism

Postmodernism refers to ideas after modernism. Postmodernism identifies contemporary culture and society which has developed since mordenism.

5 ways to identify post-modernist texts
  • Post-modernist text use intertextuality, (it borrows conventions from other texts)
  • it uses bricolage which combines two different texts together, eg. big brother, is a documentary and a game show to provide the audience with a reality tv show.
  • it could use parody where a text can be mocking another text.
  • it uses pastiche it copies history in a modern style
  • post modernist texts reject conservative values, an example of a low class is soap opera and high class is opera.
